Adam Lopez Takes On Jean Carlos Rivera In a Great Battle of Prospects

Adam Lopez vs Jean Carlos Rivera
On Saturday, 25 May 2019, Adam Lopez (12-1-0 5 KOs) will take on Jean Carlos Rivera (15-1-0 10 KOs) at the Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. The featherweight bout is scheduled for 10 rounds.
This fight is a rare breed, two excellent prospects on television. We could be in for a war as these two styles match up pretty well for a good action fight.
Lopez is the son of Hector Lopez, who was a pretty good fighter in his time. The elder Lopez fought for a couple Super Lightweight titles in his career but sadly passed away in 2011.
Adam Lopez doesn’t hit hard, but he hits a lot. And he’s capable of jumping on a vulnerable opponent. Lopez is right at the age where he doesn’t quite has his full strength that he will in a couple years. This makes every fight potentially dangerous for his upcoming opponents.
He’s suffered one loss against the exceptional Stephen Fulton is a majority decision. That fight was a back and forth affair which saw Lopez giving Fulton all he could handle.
Rivera is a pretty good prospect himself. He carries more power than Lopez and I believe will be the bigger man in the fight. But his defense and movement isn’t quit as crisp. That said, he stays home with his defense and lands like thunder. It’s going to be interesting to see if Lopez’s skill can beat Rivera’s strength.
