Callum Johnson Stops Seanie Monaghan on The Porter-Ugas Undercard

Boston, Lincolnshire, UK born Callum Johnson (18-1-0 13 KOs) stopped Sean Monaghan (29-3-0 17 KOs) on March 9th at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, NY. Johnson dominated a good chunk of the scheduled 10 round fight before stopping Monaghan in the 3rd.

In the 3rd round Johnson landed a powerful flurry of hooks . The blow was enough to convince the referee to stop the fight.

I guess that was a fight. I’ve generally regarded Monaghan as a professional but this was a pretty one sided affair with Monaghan seeming hitting the mat from a stiff wind. But look, good on Callum Johnson for the win, light heavy is a bit sparse at the moment and he looks to be a contender in the division.

The 13th stoppage of Johnson’s career elevates him to 18-1-0. The loss dropped Monaghan’s to 29-3-0.
