Christian Tapia aims to Elevate his Game Over Tough Raul Chirino

Undefeated super featherweight prospect Christian Tapia (8-0-0 7 KOs) looks to continue his rise in the ranks by taking on Raul Chirino at Bouts on Broad 2 presented by Hard Hitting Promotions. The bout takes place on April 26th at the Met in Philly.
Tapia is beginning to mature into a really good boxer. Always alert and always moving his head he slips punches while moving forward. He throws crisp power shots and possesses a killer instinct. It’s little surprise that the combination of power, speed, and boxing IQ add up to 7 knockouts over 8 fights. It’s tough to find flaws in his game because he’s dispatched opposition so easily so far in his career. He’s due for a real test and a step up soon.
Chirino has been an elite calibare C-tier gatekeeper for a long time. While the record shows a guy with a pretty poor record you can’t overlook the fact that he has fought the likes of Brandon Figueroa, Randy Ochoa, and Miguel Flores. While he suffered knockout losses to each of these men it speaks to his skill and experience that he set foot in the ring with them. While nothing is stand out special about Chirino he does everything well and presents a good test.
For Tapia, he gets to ask the question of how he measures up to such talented fighters against a measuring stick. For Chirino is an opportunity to spoil the night for a young prospect. I think Tapia will win this fight but he shouldn’t overlook Chirino. He a solid veteran with real talent and is always game for a fight.
