Leo Santa Cruz to Switch Opponents; Fights Rafael Rivera on Feb. 16

Per Leo Santa Cruz and PBC, Miguel Flores suffered an injury in camp for their upcoming Februrary 16th WBA Featherweight Title fight.

Taking his place will be Rafael “Big Bang” Rivera. Rivera’s record stands at 26-2-2 with 17 wins by knockout. Even with that veteran’s record, Rivera is only 24 years old.

Leo Santa Cruz is considered a top 10 pound for pound fighter by many people, but his lack of explosive power has kept him off some people’s radar. Rivera could present a good test given the short notice. Santa Cruz is coming off a dominate victory in his rematch over Abner Mares.

The fight will be aired on Fox on February 16th, 2019.
