Masayuki Ito vs Jamel Herring
World Boxing Organisation World Super Featherweight Title
On Saturday, 25 May 2019, Masayuki Ito (25-1-1 13 KOs) will take on Jamel Herring (19-1-1 10 KOs) at the Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. The super featherweight bout is scheduled for 12 rounds.
The bout is for the World Boxing Organisation World Super Featherweight Title.
I like the way this fight lines up. Both fighters like to pick their shots.
Herring is a defensive fight but its tough to call him a counter puncher. He style is designed to grind his opponent down. Because of this, he can be touched. And this usually spells disaster against Ito.
Ito is a bit more aggressive but also likes to pick his spots. The biggest difference between the two however is Ito’s power. Somehow his knockout rate when up as he started fighting better competition. Part of this is that he’s better at picking those shots than he was when he was younger. He’s also developed more of a killer instinct. He has the ability to clip you with one good shot then he won’t let up.
