Romero Duno takes on Tough Veteran Juan Antonio Rodriguez

Romero Duno vs Juan Antonio Rodriguez

vacant World Boxing Organisation NABO Lightweight Title

On Thursday, 16 May 2019, Romero Duno (19-1-0 15 KOs) will take on Juan Antonio Rodriguez (30-1-0 26 KOs) at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. The lightweight bout is scheduled for 10 rounds.

The bout is for the vacant World Boxing Organisation NABO Lightweight Title.

Romero Duno has looked pretty good in his early career. I love fights who throw quick and tight hooks rather than throwing from outside. But Duno doesn’t appear as fast as I would expect a world caliber fighter to be.

On the other side of the ring, Rodriguez is a serious veteran. 31 years old and all the experience in the world. He’s been in the ring with Javier Fortuna, Billy Dib, and Jezzrel Corrales. He possesses great power and to my eye he looks quicker than Duno.

I think Duno could be in some trouble here. Typically you’d like to see a 23 year old fight someone a little less dangerous than Rodriguez. But that said, this could be a huge step up for Duno if he’s able to win.
